Written by Maria Valtorta

"...And I (Jesus) also say to you:

"Take, do take this work and  'do not seal it', but read it and have it read

'because the time is close'" (John, REVELATION, 22:10)

"and let those who are holy become holier"  Rev. 22:11

May the grace of your Lord Jesus Christ be with all those who in this book

see an approach of Mine and urge it to be accomplished, to their defense,

with the cry of Love: "Come, Lord Jesus!"

Excerpt from the 2nd last page of  THE GOSPEL AS REVEALED TO ME, Volume #10, page 552.

Oil painting by Ukrainian Catholic evangelist and artist Josyp Terelya.

Copyright 2001 by Valtorta Publishing (VALTORTA.ORG), who commissioned Josyp to paint this image of the Holy Face of Jesus.

Josyp Terelya is a saint yet to be declared so by the Church.
He escaped communist prisons 9 times and was jailed and tortured for spreading the Catholic faith.
He was freed from prison due to the efforts of  Saint John Paul II and Pres. Ronald  Reagan.

When he was officially freed, they let him keep his religious art work,

but they would not let him keep his anti-communist political satire artwork

I met him once in a church parking lot and told him that they said in the church that he had visited John Paul II 40 times.

He told me that he had visited the pope 62 times and that the pope John Paul II would die that very day we

were talking.  A few hours later at the conference it was announced that the pope had indeed died!

At Josyp's funeral his bishop spiritual director Most Rev. Roman Danylak said that Josyp had seen Jesus twice in heaven.

Josyp said to Jesus that he wanted to stay in heaven. Jesus said he had to go back to earth.
When he was back on earth, someone said he had blood on his clothes.
Josyp said he was not bleeding.  Some (including the bishop) think it was Jesus' Blood.

"...if you object that Revelation was closed with the last Apostle (John), and there was nothing further to add, because the same Apostle says in

Revelation: "If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him every plague mentioned in the book" (22:18) and that can be understood for all the

Revelation, the last completion of which is the Revelation by John, I reply to you that with this work no addition was made to Revelation,

but only the gaps, brought about by natural causes and by supernatural will, were filled in.

And if I wanted to take pleasure in restoring the picture of My Divine Charity as a restorer of mosaics does replacing the tesserae damaged or missing,

reinstating the mosaic in its complete beauty, and I have decided to do it in this century in which mankind is hurling itself  towards the Abyss of darkness

and horror,

can you forbid Me from doing so?  Can you perhaps say that you do not need it, you whose spirits are dull, weak, deaf to lights, voices and invitations

from Above?

You ought really to bless Me for increasing with new lights the light that you have and that is no longer sufficient for you to "see" your Savior.

To see the Way, the Truth and the Life, and feel that spiritual emotion of the just of My time rise in you, attaining through this knowledge a renewal

of your spirits in love, that would be your salvation, because it is an ascent towards perfection.

I do not say you are "dead", but sleeping, drowsy.  Like plants during their winter sleep.  The divine Sun gives you its refulgence.

Awake and bless the Sun that gives you itself, receive it with joy that It may warm you, from the surface to deep inside you, it may rouse you

and cover you with flowers and fruits.

     Rise.  Come to My Gift.

"Take and eat.  Take and drink" I said to the apostles.

"If you only knew the gift of God and Who it is that is saying to you: 'give Me a drink', you would have been the one to ask,

and He would have given you living water" I said to the Samaritan woman (John 4:10).

I say also now: to doctors and to Samaritans as well.  Because both extreme classes need it, and also those need it, who are between the

two extremes.  The former not to be underfed and deprived of strength also with regard to themselves, and of supernatural nourishment for those

who languish with lack of knowledge of God, of the God-Man, of the Master and Savior.  The latter because souls need living water, when they

perish far away from the springs.  Those in the middle, between the former and the latter, the great mass of those who are not big sinners, and also

of those who are static in not making any progress, through laziness, tepidness, because of a wrong concept of holiness, those who are scrupulous

of not being damned, of being observant, of becoming entangled in a labyrinth of superficial practices, but dare not take a step on the steep, very

road of heroism, so that from this work they may recieve the initial incentive to come out of that immobility and set out on the heroic way.

I tell you these words.  I offer you this food and this drink of living water.  My word is Life.  And I want you in

the Life, with Me.  And I multiply My Word to counterbalance the miasmata of Satan as they destroy the vital

strength of your spirit.

Do not reject Me.  I am anxious to give Myself to you, because I love you.  And My anxiety is inextinguishable.

I ardently wish to communicate Myself to you to make you ready for the banquet of the celestial nuptials.

And you need Me in order not to languish, to dress yourselves with dresses adorned for the Wedding of the Lamb,

for the great feast of God after overcoming the affliction in this desert full of snares, of brambles and snakes,

which is the Earth, to pass through flames without suffering damage, to tread on reptiles and have to

take poisons without dying (Mark 16:18), as you have Me in you."

POEM OF THE MAN-GOD, is no longer being reprinted.

L'EVANGELO COME ME E STATO RIVELATO, is the Italian title of now the 4th Italian edition.

The logo l'E above on the English cover is the first 2 letters of the Italian title.

The Gospel As Revealed To Me  (formerly "The Poem of the Man-God")  is the title of the new 2nd English edition of the

Maria Valtorta’s main work. The new English edition is similar to the original Italian both for the title and for the subdivision

in 10 volumes.

It narrates the birth and childhood of the Virgin Mary and her Son Jesus; the three years of Jesus’ public life

(forming the largest section); his passion, death, resurrection, and ascension; the beginnings of the Church; and the assumption

of Mary. In lofty literary style, the work describes landscapes, environments, people, and events with the vividness of graphic

It presents characters and situations with introspective insight and sets forth moments of joy or drama with the feeling of

someone really taking part in them. It provides information on the characteristics of settings, customs, rites, and cultures with

convincing detail. By way of a gripping account of the Redeemer’s earthly life, especially through discourse and dialogue,

the work sheds light upon the whole doctrine of Christianity in keeping with Catholic orthodoxy.

The greatly-revered Blessed Gabriele M. Allegra, who highly esteemed Valtorta’s work, wrote, "Gifts of nature and mystical

gifts harmoniously joined together account for this masterpiece of Italian religious literature and—perhaps I should say—

of Christian literature on a world level."

The Gospel as revealed to me, a worldwide success of spiritual literature, is available in English. It is an inspired work or, as some

say, a "gospel" which neither replaces nor changes the Gospel, but rather narrates it, integrating and illuminating it, for the

purpose of reviving in men’s hearts love for Christ and his Mother.

Blessed Gabriele Allegra, O.F.M.

Scripture scholar, Blessed Father Gabriele Allegra, O.F.M., an enthusiastic promoter of Maria Valtorta's writings, was the first to translate the entire Bible into Chinese.

His translation is still the most faithfully translated Chinese Bible in use today.  Mandarin Chinese is the most spoken language in the world.  He was beatified in Sicily on

Sep. 29, 2012, feast of the Archangels Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael.  Completely faithful to the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, Blessed Gabriele Allegra is the

ONLY scripture scholar of the 20th & 21st centuries to be beatified.  If there were any doctrinal errors in the writings of Maria Valtorta,

Allegra would have surely exposed them.

"The finger of God is here. As for theological justification of a book as convincing, as charismatic, as extraordinary even from

a merely human point of view, as is Maria Valtorta's POEM OF THE MAN-GOD (new title: THE GOSPEL AS REVEALED TO ME),

I find it in St. Paul's First Epistle to the Corinthians 14:6 where he writes: 'Take me, for instance brothers, of what use could I be

to you, if I were to come to you speaking tongues, but without revelation or knowledge, prophecy or doctrine?'"

Blessed Father Gabriele Allegra.

Maria Valtorta's cause for beatification has also been formally accepted for study by the Vatican Congregation for the Saints.

This new version has larger print, and is easier to read than the smaller type of  THE POEM OF THE MAN-GOD.  Although the pages for each version are the same size,

there are 46 lines per page of Poem of the Man-God, and only 39 lines per page for The Gospel As Revealed to Me, thereby making it easier on the eyes to read.

THE GOSPEL AS REVEALED TO ME (new title).   THE POEM OF THE MAN-GOD (old title)

Most Rev. Roman Danylak, S.T.L., J.U.D., passed away on Oct. 7,  the Feast of the Holy Rosary.  He greatly promoted the writings of Maria Valtorta,

even before he was appointed a bishop by Pope John Paul II.  He was a true shepherd/bishop who interceded with God for his people, and is still praying

for us in his new home with Jesus.  He is a dear friend to many in Canada, America, Rome, and in the Ukraine.

The FIRST English edition, THE POEM OF THE MAN-GOD was translated by Nicandro Picozzi,

and revised by Patrick McLaughlin, copyright 1986.

copyright 2012 by Centro Editoriale Valtortiano, srl, Isola del Liri, Italy.

One major reason for the new 2nd English editon is that the POEM OF THE MAN-GOD

was translated from copies of Maria Valtorta's work that were prepared by Fr. Migliorini,

her spiritual director when she first started receiving these 'private' revelations.  Now not so "private"

any more as they are printed in many languages throughout the world.

THE GOSPEL AS REVEALED TO ME has been translated from Maria Valorta's Italian handwritten

notebooks,  which the publisher zealously guards.

The Virgin Mary in the Writings of Maria Valtorta
by Fr. Gabriel M. Roschini, OSM (1900-1977)

This is an account of the life of The Virgin Mary to edify those who wish to better know their

Heavenly Mother in her historical daily life as well as in her extraordinary mystical life.

Renowned mariologist Roschini said:

"Maria Valtorta of Viareggio, Italy, is one of the eighteen greatest female Marian mystics of all time."

"..the Mariology found in all of Maria Valtorta's writings--both published and unpublished--has been a real discovery for me.  No other Marian writings, not even the sum total of everything I have read and studied, were able to give me as clear, as vivid, as complete, as luminous, or as fascinating an image, both simple and sublime,

of Mary, God's Masterpiece."

Softcover, 395 pages, $27.00 US

Jesus says:  "This is the Voice of the Teacher.  It roars and caresses.  It roars when it is addressed to those who do not

want to be converted.  It caresses when it speaks to those who, though imperfect, have the "good will" to find God

and His Word and, having found Them, to sanctify themselves.  For these it becomes the caress of a Friend

and the blessing of Jesus."                  THE NOTEBOOKS 1944, Oct. 23.

"O Holy Word!  Gift given to God's beloved, a robe of fire which You encircle with splendors, Life who

become the Life of those to whom You give Yourself, may You be loved more and more with ardor and humility.

Work in these children of Yours and of Mary, who took them as Her own at the foot of the Cross to bring

comfort to Her Heart as a Mother whose adored Son was slain and to give glory to Your Divine Heart, O Most

Holy Word of my Lord God.  Lead them to Your Heart and to the Immaculate Heart of Your Mother, where

You slept as an infant and rested when slain, where there are still drops of Your Blood and of Her motherly

tears, so that the rest of their humanity will vanish on contact with them, and they, luminous in Your Light,

may enter with You into the City where everything is eternal perfection and You reign and will reign, Holy Son

of God, Incarnate Word of the Father."   Prayer dictated to Maria, Dec. 7.   THE NOTEBOOKS 1943

Last Supper by Carl Bloch

Seating arrangement as revealed to Maria Valtorta:

Simon                Peter           John              JESUS             James       Andrew       James of  Alpheus

Bartholomew      Jude        Matthew                 Judas                  Thomas         Philip

"It is Passover evening!  We have never had such a worthy display for the consumption of the lamb.  So let us consume the supper in

the spirit of peace.  I see that I have upset you considerably with My instructions of these last evenings.  But, see?  I have finished!

Now I will not upset you any more.  Not everything has been said of what refers to Me, but only the essential part.  The will understand later.

You will be told... Yes.  There will come Who will tell you!"[...]  Jesus sits down.  He does not lie down.  He sits as

we do.  And He says: "Now that the old rite has been accomplished, I will celebrate the new one.  I have promised you a miracle of love.

It is time to work it.  That is why I have longed for this Passover.  From now on this is the Victim that will be consumed in a perpetual rite

of love.  My beloved friends, I have loved you throughout the whole life of the Earth.  I have loved

you for the whole eternity, My children.  And I want to love you till the end.  There is nothing

greater than this.  Bear that in mind.  I am going away.  But we shall remain for ever united

through the miracle that I will now work."

Chapter 598 of Vol. 5. POEM OF THE MAN-GOD(From Volume #9, THE GOSPEL AS REVEALED TO ME).

Prologue to the Passion.    " And now come. Although this evening you are like one who is about to

breathe his last, come, so that I may lead you towards My sufferings.  Long is the way we shall have to

cover together, because I was not spared any sorrow: neither the pain of the flesh, nor the grief of the mind,

of the heart, of the spirit.  I tasted all of them, I fed on all of them, I quenched My thirst with all of them, to the

extent that I died of them.  If you laid your lips on Mine, you would taste the bitterness that they still retain of so much sorrow.

If you could see My Human nature in its appearance, which is now refulgent, you would see that that refulgence emanates

from the countless wounds that like a garment of living purple covered My limbs, lacerated,

exsanguinated, beaten, pierced for your sake.  My Human nature is now refulgent.  But one day it was like that

of a leper, so fiercely it had been struck and humiliated.  The Man-God, Who had in Himself the perfection of physical

handsomeness, being the Son of God and of the Immaculate Woman, to those who cast loving, curious

or scornful, or evil glances at Him, seemed a "worm", as David says, the scorn of mankind, the jest of people (Psalm 22:6)... "

..."Although you are in agony, follow Me.  As I am the Merciful One, I shall be able to put also

the scented honey of more serene contemplations before your lips, poisoned by My sorrow.  But you must still prefer these ones, smeared with blood, because it is through them that you have the Life, and you will be able

to take the Life to other people.  Kiss My bleeding hand and be vigilant when meditating on Me, the Redeemer."

 Poem of the Man-God  Vol. 5, pages 520 & 522

On Feb. 26, 1948, Pius XII said:  "Publish this work as it is. There is no need to give an opinion about its origin, whether it be extraordinary or not.  Who reads it will understand" *

Long list of bishops, clergy, professors, and laity that have aproved Maria Valtorta's writings  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A Scripture scholar of the 20th Century, whose cause for canonization was begun by a bishop in Hong Kong within 8 years of Fr. Allegra's death.  A St. Jerome for our time, he was the first to translate the entire Bible into Chinese.  He was an active advocate of the writings of Maria Valtorta.  He was declared "Venerable" on Dec. 15, 1994.  On April 23, 2002, in Rome and in the presence of Pope Saint John Paul II, the decree was promulgated naming Gabriel Allegra as "Blessed".  Fr. Allegra is the only scripture scholar beatified by Saint John Paul II.   Dec.26, 2007 is the 100th anniversary of Fr. Allegra's birth in Sicily.  The formal beatification celebration of Fr. Allegra took place in Sicily, on Sep. 29, 2012, feast of the Archangels Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael.

"Come unto Me, all you who labor and are overburdened, and I will give you rest. Shoulder My yoke and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Yes, My yoke is easy and My burden light."   Mt 11:28-30

His Holiness Pope Benedict has made the Latin Mass of 1962 more widely available since Sep. 14, 2007.  An anxiety felt by many Catholics since the Novus Ordo is seeing the priest turning his back on the tabernacle to face the people.  On June 3rd, 1944, Maria Valtorta had a vision of St. Peter (some time after the first Pentecost) celebrating the Eucharist OVER a precious chest serving as a tabernacle, thus facing the tabernacle, and also facing the people at the same time.   Problem solved--both priest & people are facing the tabernacle containing the reserved Eucharist, as they worship at Mass during the new Eucharistic Miracle!

"RADIO MARIA in Italy has been presenting the works of Maria Valtorta for many years.  Their nation-wide listening public in Italy is

around 3 million strong, and both Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict have made very public their support, appreciation and

encouragement for this excellent and punctiliously faithful Catholic radio station.  There are many cardinals and bishops who participate

on a regular basis, and this certainly would not happen if there were even just a hint of something controversial in any of the many

program offerings.  The founder and president of the radio station is Padre (Father)  Livio Fanzaga.  He himself was once skeptical

about the works of Maria Valtorta--I don't know what it was though that convinced him.  Anyhow, RADIO MARIA is pretty much all

over the globe now--and in the course of some 25 years, the Vatican and two popes have found nothing at all to criticize about the many programs

that have been devoted to the works of Maria Valtorta.  RADIO MARIA is tremendously influential among the faithful, and

for this reason, the Vatican for sure keeps a close eye--and attentive ear--on the radio's programming.  But it must be said that even in

the Vatican, RADIO MARIA is as popular and well-loved as in any other place in Italy..."

Jesus speaks of Mary's suffering during His burial and after.

"And the torture continued with periodic attacks until dawn on Sunday.  In My Passion I had only one temptation.  But the Mother,

the Woman, expiated on behalf of woman, guilty, several times, of every evil.  And Satan behaved mercilessly with infinite cruelty towards

the Conqueress.

Mary had defeated him.  The most atrocious temptation for Mary.

Temptation against the flesh of the Mother.  Temptation against

the heart of the Mother.  Temptation against the spirit of the Mother.

The world thinks that the Redemption ended with My last breath.

No, it did not.  The Mother completed it by adding Her treble torture to

redeem the treble concupiscence, struggling for three days against Satan,

who wanted to induce Her to deny My word and not to believe in My Resurrection.

Mary was the only one who continued to believe.

She is great and blessed also because of that.  A torture corresponding to My torture at Gethsemane.  The world will not

understand this page.  But "those who are in the world without being of the world" will understand it and they will have an

increased love for the Sorrowful Mother.  That is why I gave it.  Go in peace with Our blessing."

POEM OF THE MAN-GOD,  Volume 5, pp. 637-638.

"Will all this be understood by modern society, to which I grant this knowledge of Myself to strengthen it against the more and more

powerful attacks of Satan and the world?  Also nowadays, as twenty centuries ago, those to whom I reveal Myself will contradict one

another.  Once again I am the sign that is rejected.  But not with regard to Myself, but with what I stir up in them.  Good people, those of

good will, will have the good reactions of the shepherds and of humble people.  The others will react in a wicked manner, like the scribes,

the Pharisees, the Sadducees and priests of those days.  One gives what one has.  A good person who comes in touch with wicked people provokes

a surge of greater wickedness in them.  And judgement will be passed on men as it was done on Good Friday, according to how

they have judged, accepted and followed the Master, Who with a fresh attempt of infinite mercy has made Himself known once again.

How many people's eyes will open and how many will acknowledge Me saying:  "It is He. That is why our hearts burned within us as He talked

and explained the Scriptures to us?"  My peace to them and to you, My little, faithful, loving John."     POEM OF THE MAN-GOD,  Volume 4, page 828.

Homilies & messages of His Excellency Most Reverend Soosa Pakiam of the Archdiocese of Trivandrum, India, posted at the request of his secretary Father Shaji Silva.

Maria Valtorta's POEM OF THE MAN-GOD, translated by Fr. Louis Koduppana.

  Jesus says:

"Do you know why I ask for even more intense reparation and universal prayers to the Most Holy Sacrament? Out of justice. God is

just even in the most insignificant things. Consider whether He does not want to be just in relation to worship of Him.

"The Sacrament concentrates the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of your Jesus. Therefore, in praying in a spirit of reparation to

Me as Eucharist, one prays not only to My Body, but to My Blood, in addition to the Soul and the Divinity. The reparation to My

Blood is thus absorbed by that made to the Eucharist, wherein I am everything.

"I ask that My Blood be loved and used for the numberless needs of souls. Do not leave this ocean of power unfruitful, whose waves

are given by My Blood. But, if it would be good for the Blood of the Redeemer to receive much greater worship than it does, it is also

true that, given its holiness, I entrust this worship and this ministry to the souls most endowed with spiritual gifts.

"I said worship and ministry. To be ministers of worship, it is not necessary to be priests. Every soul able to be my true disciple is a

priest. I do not deny you this honor and do not deny Myself.  Nothing is dearer to Me than to be drawn upon and sprinkled by loving,

pure hands over sterile, stained, sick souls. The consecrated priest sprinkles Me over souls in Confession. But the obscure priests,

consecrated by the love which I alone know, can offer Me and sprinkle Me over all souls.

"There is no more meritorious ministry than this ministry of uniting one's blood to that of the great Victim and, in a mystical Mass,

where I am the Celebrant, and you, the acolytes, sacrifice ourselves together and provide together for the faithful and the unfaithful,

who also need My Blood and yours, My Sacrifice and yours, to find the way of Life and Truth.

"Another reason for which I demand greater reparation to Me as Eucharist is that the blasphemous imprecations go against the

Sacrament, whereas the Blood, in particular, is spared. The lack of attention surrounding it preserves it. It is better to be overlooked

than blasphemed.

"That is why, in justice, I tell you that reparation should be made for a great deal regarding the Eucharist. General reparation

regarding the Sacrament, but special worship by the disciples dearest to My Blood.

"I entrust it to the friends among My friends. As an army in battle secures its flags in the area of the most loyal, so I set My Blood in

the midst of those I know to be loyal, capable of any sacrifice out of love for their King, and I give you the order to pass among the

crowds with your hearts full of My Blood so that It will descend upon poor men to save them. Those who extend themselves in the

interest of their Lord will receive from the Lord a lofty reward in My Kingdom – the Lord says this to you; the Redeemer says this to

you; Love says this to you; and so it will be, for God is faithful and truthful and gives a hundredfold."

The eagle on Maria Valtorta's tombstone is a reminder of the loftiness of her writings, like Saint John the Evangelist

who is often compared to an eagle.  "Divinarum Rerum Scriptrix" (Writer of Divine Things).

Capitular Chapel of the Servants of Mary at the Basilica of the Holy Annunciation, Florence, Italy.    Maria's

tomb is on the left hand side, right near the altar.  Often it is covered with flowers, but we wanted you to

see what was chiseled in marble with ecclesiastical permission.

Holy Mass is offered in honor of her once a month.

"A religion without mystics is a philosphy."  POPE FRANCIS

Archbishop Denis J. Hart of Melbourne -- has issued the following statement  about the ANONYMOUS Irish woman, who blasphemously

calls herself "Maria Divine Mercy".  It was sent to the parishes. The letter, confirmed by one of his assistants, states:

"Maria Divine Mercy is an Irish woman who claims to be a prophetess who asserts she receives messages and  visions from Jesus and Mary, especially about the end times and the end of the world.  She claimed that she had predicted that Pope Benedict would be forced to resign, and that Pope Francis is an impostor.

"We are informed that some people are circulating these alleged messages, together with holy pictures. Please inform your people that these matters do not have the approval of the Church, and their dissemination is to be discontinued, and any message or leaflets are to be disposed of.  The Archbishop  believes that he must give authoritative guidance in this matter. [signed]--Alina Tsakonas, Personal Assistant, Office of the Vicar General."

"Heresy is the obstinate post-baptismal denial of some truth which must be believed with

Divine and Catholic faith,

or it is likewise an obstinate doubt concerning the same;  apostacy is the total repudiation of the Christian faith;

of the Church subject to him."

CODE OF CANON LAW,  #751, issued by Pope John Paul II, Jan. 25, 1983

Pope Benedict XVI publicly declared that he resigned of his own free will,

so Maria Divine Mercy's claim that he was forced to resign,

is a claim that Benedict was lying to everyone when he resigned.

Now she is claiming we should follow Benedict as the true pope---

after claiming he lied about his resignation being voluntary---what utter nonsense!!

2 Timothy 4: 3-4

"For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves

teachers to suit their own likings, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander into myths."

Photo of Maria Valtorta, taken by her spiritual director, Fr. Romauldo M. Migliorini, on February 19, 1943.

"When I inspired (Fr. Migliorini) to aks you for your little autobiography, I did so because I knew that some good would come out of it for you.  As you were

writing it, you drove out all the resentment, all the spite, all the ferment that life had put in you. You have cleansed yourself of it.  You needed to repeat to

yourself everything that you had suffered and tell a Christian heart.  This is the thing that will comfort the most as long as there are human beings.  I will put it

this way:  you needed to do some spiritual book keeping to see how much you had received from God and given to God, how much you had received

from human beings and given to human beings."

" suffered as you were recalling and writing, but your soul has shed much humanity that hindered your growth from a very human creature to a spiritual

creature.  You have done like a chrysalis coming out of its cocoon:  the envelope that imprisoned your spirit fell like a dead thing and your soul spread its wings..."

Excerpt from  LESSONS ON THE EPISTLE OF ST. PAUL TO THE ROMANS, written by Maria Valtorta, (Feb. 14, 1948):

"The most Divine Author (the Holy Spirit) says:

In Chap. 9 of Genesis, it is said, "...I will set My rainbow in the clouds, and it shall be the sign of a covenant between Me

and the earth.  And when I will have accumulated clouds (the punishments) in the sky, My rainbow shall appear in the

clouds and I will remember My cove nant...of the everlasting covenant established between God and

with every flesh that is upon the earth."

Rainbow: sign of peace.  Rainbow: bridge between Heaven and Earth.

Mary, the peaceful bridge joining Heaven and Earth, the most Beloved One who obtains mercy for sinners with Her

sole presence.  And God, in the centuries before Christ, when the prevarications of men, obstinate and proud, accumulated

the clouds of the divine chastisement upon Humanity, contemplating in His Thought She who ab

eterno was established the Ark of the Divine Word, Fount of Grace, Seat of Wisdom, the peaceful joy of Her Lord,

dispersed the clouds of the inexorable chastisement, granting time to Humanity in expectation of Salvation.

The voice of the still unborn Virgin: "Peace! Mercy! My Lord!"

Her perfect love, Her perfect obedience, already noticed by God before the purest Star was, the sweet sacrificial

odor that appeased the wrath of the Lord. And in the centuries after Christ, Mary is peace and mercy for Humanity.

And with the growing of sins and the increasing of storm clouds of divine wrath and satanic fumes, Mary is always

the one who scatters the clouds, who disarms the lightening, who builds Her mystical bridge for Humanity who has

fallen into the abyss so that it can rise up sweetly towards its Good.

"I will set My rainbow amongst the clouds...and I will remember My covenant."

Oh! truly the Rainbow of peace, the Co-Redemptrix is amongst the clouds, above the clouds, the sweet star that

shines in the presence of God in order to remind Him that He has promised mercy to men and has given His Son so

that men may have forgiveness.  She is such, not as a sweet thought but as a true reality, complete, with Her soul

without blemish and Her flesh without corruption.  Nor is She content at being adored or blessed, but shows Herself

to be active and calls, She again calls Humanity to Salvation.

The hour of Mary.  THIS HOUR."

Special Note: Chinese Catholics have a very special place in their hearts for Maria Valtorta's "Poem of the Man-God" as it was

promoted by Renowned Bible Scholar Fr. Gabriel M. Allegra, O.F.M..

Fr. Allegra is highly revered by Chinese Catholics for being the very first to translate the entire Catholic Bible into Chinese

(for every one person who speaks English, there are five who speak Chinese)

.  The cause for Fr. Allegra's Canonization was started in 1984 by Bishop John Wu in Hong Kong, 8 years after his death. He was declared venerable by the Holy See in 1994 and the

his decree of beatification was promulgated in 2002 by Pope John Paul II. The Roman Curia announced through the Sicilian Franciscan Holy Name Province, that Venerable Gabriel

Allegra, O.F.M,. was beatified on September 29, 2012, at the Cathedral of Arcireale, Catania in Sicilia. He is the only biblical scholar in the 20th and the 21st centuries who has been beatified.

She was born in Caserta to Lombard parents on March 14, 1897.

Her father, Giuseppe Valtorta, born in Mantova in 1862, served in the Nineteenth Regiment of the Light Cavalry Guides with the rank of

chief armorer warrant officer. Good and submissive, he was to be the loving educator of his only daughter.

Her mother, Iside Fioravanzi, born in Cremona in 1861, had been a French teacher. Peevish and selfish, she oppressed her husband and daughter

with irrational and sometimes cruel severity.

After coming close to dying at her birth, Maria was entrusted to a wet nurse with bad habits. At the age of eighteen months, when her family moved

to Faenza to follow the transfer of the Regiment, the child shifted from the burning heat of the south (she attributed her passionate nature to this fact

and to the milk of her wet nurse) to the temperate climate of the northern regions.

Later moves to Milan and Voghera marked the stages of her growth and her cultural and religious training, in which she displayed her strong

character, outstanding capacities, and deep spiritual sensitivity. She crowned off her studies at the prestigious Bianconi School in Monza,

which was her peaceful nest for four years, at the end of which she grasped what her inner life would be like in God’s plan.

In 1913 her father retired for health reasons, and the family established its residence in Florence, where it would remain for eleven-and-a-half years.

Maria was content in that city, which suited her cultural sensitivity and, during the first world war, gave her the chance to exercise her love for her

neighbor as a “Samaritan Nurse” at the military hospital. But in Florence she was also beset by very harsh trials through the actions of her fearsome

mother and a subversive: the former twice crushed her legitimate dreams of love, and the latter struck a blow at her lower back on the street, paving

the way for her infirmity.

It was then that Maria Valtorta got the providential opportunity to spend two years in Reggio Calabria, from 1920 to 1922, as the guest of relatives

running a hotel who with their affection, joined to the natural beauty of the place, contributed to reinvigorating her in body and soul. During that

vacation she felt new impulses towards a life rooted in Christ, but her return to Florence, where she would remain for two more years, submerged

her again in bitter memories.
In 1924 her parents bought a house in Viareggio, where they settled and where an inexorable ascetic activity began for Maria expressing itself in

firm intentions and culminating in heroic offerings of herself out of love for God and mankind. At the same time she devoted herself

to the parish as the cultural delegate for the young women of Catholic Action and gave talks which began to be attended even by the nonobservant.

But it was harder and harder for her to move. On January 4, 1933 she left her house for the last time, with extreme exertion, and from April 1, 1934

on she no longer got out of bed.

On May 24, 1935 a young person who had been left orphaned and alone, Marta Diciotti, was taken into the house, and she became Maria’s helper

and confidante for the rest of her life. A month later, on June 30, her beloved father died, and Maria nearly died of grief. Her mother, whom she

always loved by virtue of a natural duty and a supernatural sentiment, died on October 4, 1943, never having ceased to oppress her daughter.

On August 16, 1944, Maria Valtorta received her first dictation for the first page of her monumental masterpiece, THE GOSPEL AS REVEALED

TO ME, 2nd English Edition, which is now being reprinted and distributed throughout the world.

The First English edition was titled THE POEM OF THE MAN-GOD, and is no longer being reprinted, as it has been

replaced by the new 2nd English edition, THE GOSPEL AS REVEALED TO ME.  Maria's remarkable writings are now available in 30 different languages.
